AI Ethics Lab Bias & Misinformation in the Euro-Mediterranean

Practical AI tools to govern bias and prevent misinformation across the Euro-Med region.

What is the AI Ethics Lab?

The AI Ethics Lab is an applied research and training initiative led by the Old School Green Association, focusing on algorithmic bias, ethical AI governance, and AI-based preventive solutions to misinformation in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

The Lab bridges ethics, technology, and public interest by translating complex AI risks into concrete tools for educators, civil society, and policy-oriented actors.

Why the Euro-Mediterranean Region?

The Euro-Mediterranean area faces overlapping challenges: political polarization, cross-border misinformation flows, cultural bias embedded in digital systems, and uneven AI literacy.

AI systems trained on dominant narratives often reproduce structural inequalities affecting Mediterranean societies. The Lab directly addresses these risks through region-specific analysis and culturally aware AI ethics frameworks.

Core Focus Areas

Algorithmic Bias Governance
Identifying, auditing, and mitigating cultural, linguistic, and political bias in AI systems.

AI-Driven Misinformation Prevention
Preventive (not reactive) AI approaches to detect narrative manipulation and disinformation patterns.

Ethical & Legal AI Frameworks
Translating AI ethics principles into operational tools for NGOs, educators, and youth workers.
