Empowering Youth for Climate Action: Old School Green Association Partners in Seed Ball Initiative
At Old School Green Association, we believe that fostering environmental stewardship begins with empowering the next generation. We are thrilled to share our recent participation in a heartening community initiative dedicated to strengthening children’s connection with nature and raising awareness about climate change.
Our President, Gülfem Boz, represented the association at this special event, working alongside young climate champions to translate environmental education into hands-on action.
Bringing Environmental Awareness to Life in Antalya
Organized in collaboration between the Akdeniz University Faculty of Agriculture and the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, the event focused on inspiring children under state protection and care to take an active role in protecting our planet.
Through a partnership with Akdeniz University Faculty of Agriculture, the children learned about sustainable ecosystems and crafted hand-made seed balls a simple yet powerful tool for reforestation and biodiversity restoration.

Connecting Children with Nature Through Action
The highlight of the event was watching the children present their handcrafted seed balls directly to local citizens. This interactive gesture served a dual purpose:
Hands-on Learning: Children gained practical insight into ecological preservation, seed propagation, and climate resilience.
Community Engagement: Citizens were reminded of the shared responsibility we all hold in supporting a greener, more sustainable future.
When children physically engage with natural elements, abstract concepts like climate change transform into tangible, positive action.
